Former Chair tweets that God’s blessing matters to the Libertarian Party.
Sometimes, big news lands on all of us. Stories that would normally matter get pushed aside. The big news was Charlie Kirk.
However, a fan of Gracearchy with Jim Babka contacted me about a September 8 Tweet…

These topics are right up our niche!
Our show reaches out to both libertarians and Jesus followers, inviting them to meet and learn from one another. I want the voluntaryist ethic to spread widely amongst believers.
Moreover, at our show, we already have the reputation of handling matters with nuance and grace. Our practice involves both steelmanning and truth-telling.
We scheduled the recording of this episode mere minutes before Charlie was shot, and we pressed ahead with it because we weren’t ready to responsibly comment on Charlie’s tragedy.
So what did I have to say about this Tweet?

Analyzing Angela’s God’s Blessing Matters Tweet
Angela McArdle is the former Chair of the Libertarian Party. She invited Donald Trump to the Libertarian Party’s convention during the 2024 presidential campaign. She resigned in February, during her second term. She’s now the leader of the intra-party Mises Caucus.
Not only do we read Angela’s post on X very closely, but we also cover…
- The real source of your security
- Christ’s Kingdom isn’t coercive
- What freedom really is and what it looks like
- The importance of trust and keeping your word in maintaining and expanding liberty
- Why the pastor and the pornographer can be friends at a libertarian meeting
My goal was to be graceful in the analysis without sacrificing the truth of the matter. Did I achieve that? You can be the judge of that by tuning into this 141st episode.

P.S. While this program’s sponsor, Zero Aggression Project, is legally non-partisan and temperamentally anti-partisan, meaning it takes no position on electoral candidates or political parties… Due to my personal knowledge of the participants in the party saga, I also covered two additional points, neither of which will likely earn me new friends…
- The sabotage of the party’s 2024 nominee
- How the Libertarian Party’s (most recent) civil war started
- How to refresh and rebuild the Libertarian Party

Wow! I remember the Ron Paul Revolution and how we had pro -choice and pro -life people united by the message of liberty and empathy. We in Florida rejoiced to be able to unite in limiting government regardless of their position on that issue – which is about as divisive as it gets. Yet we could agree that taxing people either for adoption or abortion funding was wrong. The point about taking God’s name in vain relating to what we call ‘swearing’ is spot on as well. Swearing once was used to speak of making an oath -we have trivialized that to a simple using of God’s name inappropriately. It would be great to see this type of unity that was seen in the Ron Paul Revolution again, Maybe the Libertarian party can be the path for this. I actually told my son to check out Chase Oliver here in OK – I think he voted for him.
