Anthony Fauci the Scapegoat?

August 3, 2026

Is Fauci the Scapegoat? The latest episode of Gracearchy with Jim Babka tackles this question.

What we say here, you won’t hear elsewhere.

The right-wing media is fascinated with Fauci’s “narcissism.” The left-wing media is focused on Rand Paul’s “obsession.” And surprisingly few people understand how Senator Paul got Fauci’s “diary,” so they’re having fake ethics discussions.

Hundreds of shows already cover that stuff. We don’t.

Instead, Bill and I just talk. No outline (like normal). And we land on a uniquely Gracearchy answer:

Truth must come before reconciliation arrives.

Confession: I watch the playback to add timestamps, and I always think, “I wish I’d said X.” This time is no different.

Yet my answer to “Is Fauci the scapegoat?” still comes down to two things:

Truth precedes reconciliation…
And the political process is the enemy of truth.

I’m pleased that both ideas get real airtime in this one.

OR…

Nearly all the coverage by other shows is about Fauci “taking the Fifth.” Sure, that must be covered. But we’re not lawyers (nor are most of the commentators), and we don’t dwell on it.

Indeed, while nearly everyone else is focused on political questions, we stay true to the pattern we laid down in episodes 41 (March ’23) and 159 (May ’26) [links in the show notes], which is…

  • What’s the evidence for a lab leak?
  • Who else is in the conspiracy? Meet the “Spillover Gang,” because it was never just Fauci.
  • Where has the lab leak case gotten stronger?
  • Why does any of this still matter?

This time, we go further. We talk about the “confessions” found in Fauci’s journal. We also cover both Fauci’s humanity and how the pardon is an obstacle to the truth.

And here we focus more on…

  • The very human flaw that blinds us and makes social resolution so difficult
  • How to spiritually resolve the debate. This includes Rand Paul’s role and YOUR role.

Yes, we explain how you can play a part in making things better.
